Kedarnath Trailer: Sara Ali Khan a star in the making, Sushant Singh Rajput steals the show; trailer gripping and breathtaking

The much awaited Kedarnath trailer is out and you can clearly make out, Sara Ali Khan is a star in the making, while Sushant Singh Rajput is his impactful self in his performance.

With the Uttarakhand floods of 2013 as the backdrop, the movie is the love story between a pithu played by Sushant Singh who is a Muslim and Sara Ali Khan a Hindu tourist.

The 3 minute trailer looks quite impactful, with a good storyline of a romantic love affair embroiled in the religious conflict of Hindu and Muslim and battling it out in the midst of a natural calamity which seemingly will test the love of the two.

The plus is beautiful locales, and the visual effects when it comes to displaying the torments of the flood. Speaking about the natural calamity, the director revealed during the trailer launch, “The Uttarakhand floods were one of the most disastrous calamities and I am hoping that Kedarnath helps bring a change.”

The music too is quite refreshing with a melodious and religious appeal. The song Namo Namo seems to have been taken well by viewers and has gained a considerable number of views.

Kedarnath has found itself in controversies even during the making of the film as the director and producers got into a conflict over creative differences and the shoot was stalled for days. Finally despite rescheduling the release date, it will hit theatres in December.

However, recently again a BJP demanded ban on ‘Kedarnath’ alleging that it hurst Hindu sentiments and promotes love jihad.

Taking exception to a kissing scene between lead pair Sushant Singh Rajput and Sara Ali Khan featured in the film’s teaser and a tagline in its poster reading “Love is a Pilgrimage”, the BJP leader alleged that it was an attack on the Hindu religion as Kedarnath represents the faith of crores of Hindus.

“By setting a romantic love story against the backdrop of a huge tragedy that occurred at Kedarnath, a centre of faith for crores of Hindus, the filmmakers have shown great disrespect to the followers of the religion” Ajay told PTI.

Objecting to the film depicting the love story of a Muslim porter and a Hindu pilgrim, Ajay said couldn’t the makers of the film find a Hindu character for the lead.

Accusing the film of promoting love jihad, the BJP leader said acute resentment prevailed among teertha purohits for projecting Kedarnath in such a flippant manner.

Warning of largescale protests in the state if the film was released, Ajay urged the CBFC chairman to impose a ban on the movie produced by Ronnie Screwwala and Pragya Kapoor.

And Sara Ali Khan had her Cinderella moment as she dressed up in a dreamy floral Abu Jani-Sandeep Khosla number. She looked ethereal in that look. Also later she dressed up in a Sabyasachi lehenga for promotions of Kedarnath in Indian Idol. Gorgeous as she is, the soon to debut actress rocked both the look!
