Bollywood’s power couple Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone are all set to tie the knot in Lake Como, Italy on November 14 and 15th to take place in both South Indian and Sindhi-Punjabi ceremonies, honoring the bride and groom’s culture.
In a report by DNA, the couple has been on a hunt for a new home. They have been looking at some plush properties coming up in Mumbai recently, but haven’t been able to zero down in on one.
According to a source it might be a few years before the couple moves into their dream abode. “Zeroing down on such an apartment isn’t an easy task and this will take some time. They don’t want to rush into choosing the property. They want to do it up completely before they move in,” adds the source.
Their dream home is expected to be on the lines of Shah Rukh Khan’s bungalow, Mannat, which may cost them an approximate Rs 70 crore. Since this house will be for life, Deepika and Ranveer are looking at all the possible options before making the final investment.
The source also reveals that till their new address isn’t fully ready, Ranveer doesn’t want to displace Deepika from her existing plush pad in Prabhadevi. He has decided that, in the interim, he would move into this house till they build their new abode together. “It’s a wise and practical decision by the duo because Deepika stays alone in Prabhadevi. And Ranveer doesn’t want her to leave the place that she has made her home over the years,” the informer adds.
Deepika Padukone owns an apartment on the 26th floor in a residential complex in Prabhadevi, which is reportedly worth Rs. 16 crore.
The interiors of Deepika’s home were reportedly done by Vinita Chaitanya. Earlier this year, a massive fire broke out on the top floor of the high-rise building in the complex.
As per a report in India Today, Deepika and Ranveer will have a traditional Konkani style wedding on November 14 in Italy as the actress belongs to the Saraswat Brahmin community from Karnataka. While on 15th, a Sindhi wedding ceremony will follow, given Ranveer’s roots.
Iis also being said that Dippy has spent over Rs 1 crore on her wedding jewellery. If the buzz is to be believed, Deepika Padukone’s mangalsutra consists of a huge solitaire and costs about Rs 20 lakh.
Those in the know said she bought a chain for husband-to-be Ranveer Singh from a jewellery store at Andheri. The showroom was shut about half-an-hour earlier than usual to enable Dippy to pick up the baubles she fancied without any prying eyes.
Deepika was in Bengaluru, her hometown. She was there for the customary South Indian Nandi puja. She’s back in Mumbai now. Ranveer, on the other hand, flew down to Mumbai from Goa for a day for his Haldi ceremony and Satyanarayan puja.
The pictures of groom-to-be Ranveer, enjoying what appears to be the pre-wedding haldi ceremony, have surfaced on the Internet.
Dressed in a white kurta and pyjamas, Ranveer can be seen posing with close pal, casting director Shanoo Sharma at his house. In the photos, which have now gone viral, we can see Ranveer’s house all decked up with the African marigolds.
