Rajpal Yadav sentenced 3 months of civil prison over non-payment of 5 crore loan

Bollywood’s sought comedian face Rajpal Yadav has has been sent to a 3-month period of civil prison by the Delhi High Court over non-payment of his loan amounting to a whopping Rs 5 crore.

Reports say the the amount was taken by him and his wife Radha for his directorial venture ‘Ata Pata Laapata back in 2010. The actor was taken into custody for not being able to pay off his loan amount.

The film starred known faces like Asrani, Om Puri, Ashutosh Rana, Manoj Joshi, Govind Namdeo, Dara Singh, Vikram Gokhale, Vijay Raaz, and Satyadev Dubey among others.

The movie however flopped badly at the box office with poor reviews after hitting the screen back in 2012 November. The movie marked the directorial debut of Rajpal Yadav who played the lead role in it as well. His wife Radha Yadav produced the venture.

Rajpal Yadav will be seen in upcoming movie ‘Total Dhamaal’, an out-an-out comedy that is to release coming year.

ANI tweeted about Rajpal Yadav being to prison, “Delhi High Court: Actor Rajpal Yadav sentenced to 3-month civil prison & was immediately taken into custody by Delhi Police for failing to repay a loan of Rs. 5 crore which Yadav & his wife Radha had taken in 2010 to make his directorial debut with Hindi film ‘Ata Pata Laapata’.”
