Karan Johar’s ‘Good News’ shoot starts today in Chandigarh with Kiara Advani and Diljit Dosanjh

Karan Johar’s upcoming production venture ‘Good News’ shoot started today in Chandigarh with Kiara Advani and Diljit Dosanjh.

The lead cast also includes Kareen Kapoor Khan and Akshay Kumar. Good News is directed by debutante director Raj Mehta and the crew has flown to Chandigarh to shoot a stretch of the film.

Akshay Kumar and Kareena Kapoor Khan are expected to join the crew after Akhshay finishes promoting 2.0 in Mumbai.

Akshay and Karan has joined hands for quite a few projects, 2.0 has already released, Kesari is ongoing and now Akshay will start shoot for Good News.

Akshay had earlier said on a lighter note that, “From having coffee with Karan, I am now having breakfast, lunch and dinner with him.”

Good News tells the story of two couples played by Akshay Kumar –Kareena Kapoor Khan, Diljit Dosanjh – Kiara Advani who are trying to have a baby.

The ‘dramedy’ as Karan Johar calls it, is to be released on July 19, 2019. Interestingly, Johar’s Dharma Productions which so far shot feature films largely on exotic foreign locales seems to be going desi in a big way.

Good News will be the first of a slew of forthcoming Dharma Production to be shot largely in India. Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions has quite a lot of large scale movies coming up and few of them with ensemble cast.

Like Brahmastra which stars Alia Bhatt, Ranbir Kapoor, Amitabh Bachchan, Mouni Roy, Nagarjuna, then there’s Kalank and Takht both with ensemble cast.

Karan also announced the start of a new wing of digital content arm of Dharma called ‘Dharmatic’ Entertainment. With so much going on Karan surely has a lot on his plate to handle apart from occasional judging of reality shows like the current ongoing India’s Got Talent.
